Things are Popping Up on the Ridge
it finally feels like it's happening... almost every day something new is being accomplished on the ridge.

It's probably way past time for an update! So much has been happening I'm not sure where to start.

We sold the house in Key West... BIG .. HUGE.. the price was neither big nor huge but it was time to move on. We flew in, spent 4 days packing and, yes, each drove back Michael in a truck and Karen in the mini cooper. WHEW!

THEN... we flew to Maine to spend some quality time with our architect Bob Knight. Since our home sold for less than we planned it was time to scale back the size of our mountain home. The project has gone from 2 building and a bridge to one, smaller, but completely WONDERFUL home. The design is finally ready for the engineers and we absolutely love it. GREAT JOB, BOB! We'll post some sketches soon.

And.. up on the ridge. Working closely with Kent Havell, our adorable builder, we've been doing everything we can to get ready to build. A lot of that work has centered on getting the trailer in place for son Tim who will work with Kent on the project and provide some security, too. The trailer has been delivered, the dog pen installed, temporary electrical permits signed off on and even the telephone is LIVE! WHEW, and double WHEW WHEW!

Still working on high speed internet.. well digging.. and and and... I think we're both amazed by the quantity of details that must be considered when building a home.

And now it's a race against the thermometer. We need to get the plans through engineering, the big hole dug and the foundation poured and cured before the ground freezes so that construction can continue through the winter.

We'll keep you posted on our progress.. Stay tuned.
